THOSE chairs are the exact style of the ones that were left behind in Richmond.  Except mine were dark wood and black leather and the seat needed to be replaced on one.

idk if I adequately described them before so you could get a true picture of their glory.  and now you know why I literally had to run away from them before I lost my mind and stuck two chairs in a rental car with no place to put them in our apartment.

Mascara Diaries: Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes

Time for another entry to our mascara diaries. I have been using Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes mascara for about three weeks now and the results are mixed. Overall I'm not crazy about the mascara but I found a way to make it acceptable enough that I don't need to buy a new mascara for the time being.

My main complaint is the brush. I took a picture of the cat eyes brush (at the top) and the brush from my favorite Maybelline mascara Colossal Volum to show the difference. The cat eyes brush is far too skinny and the tube isn't designed to take enough excess mascara off as you remove the wand. You can probably see the difference between the two brushes and their product to bristle volume ration. This meant my lashes stuck together rather than fanning out into full and separate strands. It would be better to go without - a serious statement coming from a mascara addict. 

Since the consistency of the mascara is alright, I tried swapping the wands. I now use the brush from my favorite Maybelline mascara (pictured above) in the cat eyes mascara and left the scrawny cat eyes brush in the old tube of mascara. The regular Colossal Volum mascara has a much better formula when it comes to adding volume and length but the cat eyes option isn't so bad that I need to run out and buy a different mascara immediately. 

Posh Purpose Tip: Get the Most Out of Your Aeroccino

Briana and I are both huge fans of our Nespresso machines and I loooooove my Aeroccino milk frother that Mr. 3 bought me for Christmas.  The Aeroccino is capable of making both hot and cold milk froth which is awesome for lattes!  BUT I also like heating up milk in the Aeroccino for hot chocolate because it makes the perfect amount at the perfect temperature.

This past weekend, I really wanted some hot tea.  I typically use a tea kettle which takes a bit of time and usually makes the water too hot to drink my tea right away.  I got the bright idea to heat the water up in the Aeroccino instead since I knew it had made the milk the exact temperature to immediately enjoy hot cocoa.  I know this isn't exactly rocket science, but, honestly, I had never thought to try it before!  It worked perfectly to make my little cup of tea and I certainly like getting the most out of my kitchen gadgets!  Anyone else have any uses for the Aeroccino or suggestions for other double duty kitchen gadgets?

Thrift Store Finds

I hope y'all had a great long weekend! I was quite productive. I went to the fabric store and bought supplies for three Christmas gifts and even started making one of them. I also stopped by Habitat for some perusing and Michael's for baby shower materials. And now it is time for some thrift store finds to start off our short week.

This $35 chair has a great shape and is super comfortable. The caning is not torn but a potential buyer would probably want to update the dingy fabric.

This light fixture is $45 and has been tested and works. Thanks Habitat! It is something you would find on Emily Henderson's blog, but for much more money because California prices are much higher than rural Florida prices.

This light fixture is also $45 and is more dated looking than the one above. You could still work on it though with some spray paint. Perhaps black?

Habitat recently set out their hardware with most things costing 50 cents each. These drawer pulls have potential and there are a ton of them.

While I wouldn't pay the $25 price tag for this round table, it is pretty cute. What do you think?

Posh Purpose Review: Downgrading Herbal Essence Naked Dry Shampoo

Earlier in the week, I posted about my review of the Herbal Essence Naked Dry Shampoo; and, despite some formula issues, I liked the price and the end result enough to give it a Posh Purpose Rating of "B."  Later in the week, I went to use the dry shampoo again and it was clogged.  After running the spray nozzle under hot water and shaking the can to try to break up the clog, I still couldn't get the aerosol can to start spraying.  I did a bit of checking on some other online reviews at Target and I found out this is a common complaint.

Although I have used this product multiple times, I had used less than half of the can and now I can't get the product to spray anymore which means this can is going in the trash.  Although the $5 price tag is great, I just lost $2.50...which makes me super unhappy.  Therefore, I'm downgrading our Posh Purpose rating:
